  26. Such exciting news!!!!! Congratulations! If I get the diagnosis, I will be seeing you! Which makes me think…..do I have to have the diagnosis before making an appointment at your center?….or is the suspicion of having ms enough to schedule for you to check on diagnosis?

  27. Very exciting! I have had many problems in my area finding reliable, caring MS specialty neurologists. There just aren’t enough of them. Congratulations!

  28. Congratulations Dr B. You are such a rare beast! A neurologist who wants to educate and listen to his patients wow – most of us can only dream of that. Please try and create a culture change within your own profession – you’re off to a flying start as you’re leading by example

    Dad and Karen

  30. Dr. Boster congratulations on your new clinic!! Yay!!! Please remember that many of us across the nation would like to see a satellite clinic in our states/counties as well. I would definitely like to see one open here in the northern Dallas, like McKinney, Texas. I would also like to see an under represented city; and an office in the northern suburbs of Denver. So many cases of MS there and such low quantity of MS specialists to help patients. Securing an appointment at University Of Colorado MS Clinic takes months!! It’s tragic πŸ˜–Please keep up the great work. I certainly do appreciate ALL your effort. Many blessings to you and your staff. 😊

  31. I am so proud of you Dr. Boster!! I remember when I first met you. You are the best hopefully I will see you soon!!! Calling now!!

  32. So awesome! Praying for your new practice! You'll do some great work for us in the MS community with this. :^) I hope we get stationed in Cincinnati soon!!

  33. My Neuro (east side of Twin Cities in MN) is pretty good at listening to me and with the physical symptoms of MS but not so much the cognitive impacts. He requested a cognitive specialist for me to look for any impact and appointments were like a year out. I went to Mayo in Rochester for a second opinion to my Neuros assessment that I am transitioning to SPMS (they agree) and a Neuro Psych review. I had the rest of the review done in my visit in September but to get into a Neuro Psych had a longer wait so just had those appointments last week. Does your center have all the experts needed under one roof and available? It would be worth a drive to Ohio…

  34. Congratulations Dr. Boster! You have helped SO many people withMS. Thank You for what you do!!! πŸ’—πŸ‘πŸ’—

  35. Congratulations Dr. Boster I’m sure you seen the news about the correlation between MS and the Herpe virus out of Sweden

My wife just informed me she would be willing to move to Ohio so I could be treated by you πŸ˜€

I just got my 1 year out brain mri results yesterday with and without contrast and I’m doing great no new lesions or damage which makes sense because I’ve been feeling pretty good for the most part
Thank you for everything you do for us

Swedish medical researchers have discovered a likely link between a variant of the herpes virus and later development of multiple sclerosis (MS).
The study, which analyzed the blood of 8,700 multiple sclerosis patients and an additional control group of 7,200 people without MS, found that MS patients were 50 percent more likely to have a greater number of antibodies against human herpesvirus 6 (HVV-6). HVV-6 is a common strain of the virus whose variantsβ€”a and bβ€”have been linked with eventual development of multiple sclerosis.
The researchers looked at an additional subgroup of 500 people who didn't have MS but had been exposed to herpes. The study found that exposure to HVV-6 meant that the risk of developing MS later in life was doubled. Age was also a factor, as those exposed to herpes at a young age being more likely to develop MS.
While researchers were able to link HHV-6A with future MS development in patients, they noticed that 6A was much more common in MS victims. The 6B strain is was more common in the general population.
Both HVV-6A and HVV-6B have the ability to infect brain cells, but in slightly different ways. This provided the researchers with new ways to map out the development and onset of MS in patients, which could lead toward better therapies and perhaps a cure.
Eighty percent of children are infected with HHV-6B before they turn 2, according to researchers. The disease usually manifests in common childhood ailments like roseola. This results in many having antibodies against the virus in their bloodstream for the rest of their lives.

"This is a big breakthrough for both the MS and herpes virus research," Anna Fogdell-Hahn, an associate professor of clinical neuroscience at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and co-senior author of the study, said. "We are now able, with this new method, to find out how common these two different types of HHV-6 are, something we haven't been able to do previously."
MS is a degenerative disease that disrupts the body's nervous system, interfering with temperature regulation, speech, balance and vision, among other neurological processes. While there are no guarantees as to how one's illness will progress, the disease is currently incurable. Life expectancy of MS patients is, on average, 5-10 years lower than that of those unafflicted

  37. I just read below that you would see patients from other states. I live in Tennessee and don’t know how far that would be for us to travel. I’ll have to tell my husband.
